My favorite teacher at Paly was Judy Speidel. I had her for English, and one of her assignments was to read George Orwell’s 1984 and compare it to the year we were currently living in. I remember the assignment because I got a good grade on my paper. :-) But she was the first teacher who instilled in me a belief that I could write.
